| New York State Prevention Planning Group (PPG) | Co-Chairs: Wendy Shotsky and Veronica Minter | The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requires a Community Planning Process for states, cities and territories receiving CDC funding. In 1994, consistent with the Supplemental Guidance on HIV Prevention Community Planning and other documents issued by the CDC, the AIDS Institute established the NYS HIV Prevention Planning Group (PPG). The PPG is specifically designed to facilitate a collaborative process between communities across the state and the New York State Department of Health, and to provide a broad range of views to advise the AIDS Institute about programs that will be most successful in preventing HIV infection. |

Task force membership includes the commissioners and directors, or their designees, of 23 State agencies that serve individuals or groups at risk for HIV infection and AIDS. |

| National Quality Center (NQC) Steering Committee | Co-Chairs: Clemens Steinböck and Tracy Matthews | Meets annually and assumes responsibility, in collaboration with the HIV/AIDS Bureau, for the vision and policy direction of the NQC. This Committee is composed of individuals representing programs funded under each Ryan White Program Part, with attention to geographic regions. The Steering Committee has the following major functions: provide feedback to guide NQC and its activities in order to be fully responsive to the needs of Ryan White-funded grantees; establish national priorities for future technical assistance activities by NQC; assist the HIV/AIDS Bureau in their efforts to work with Ryan White grantees to improve HIV care. Seasoned individuals with quality management expertise working in programs funded by different Parts of the Ryan White Program have been recruited. Key HIV/AIDS Bureau staff as well as representatives from each of the major NQC partners are included, along with designated individuals to represent clinical expertise and the community of people living with HIV, represented by NQC Consumer Advisory Board. |

For consumers to communicate their ideas and concerns about quality of care in New York State to the AIDS Institute. The goals of the Committee are to engage Committee members in discussions about quality of care issues that can effectively empower people living with HIV/AIDS in their relationships with providers, to provide input to staff on the AIDS Institute’s Quality of Care Program, including, but not limited to, performance measurement, quality improvement projects, quality infrastructure requirements, and targeted consumer and provider initiatives, and to inform and educate committee members and their represented groups about current and future quality initiatives of the AIDS Institute’s HIV Quality of Care Program. |

HIVQUAL Clinical Advidory Committee (National HIV Quality of Care program administered by the AIDS Institute) |
Co-Chairs: Dr. Bruce Agins and Dr. Steve Johnson | The purpose of the HIVQUAL Clinical Advisory Committee, which consists of HIV providers from clinics across the United States, is to develop and refine HIVQUAL indicators. Members are recruited among HIVQUAL-US participants to reflect the geographic distribution of clinical providers. The Advisory Committee is routinely convened to review and revise selected indicators based on changes in clinical guidelines and experience in the field concerning the validity of the measures and their relevance to care. |
| New York State HIV Quality of Care Advisory Committee (QAC) | Chairs: Dr. Peter Gordon, Dr. Barbara Johnston, Dr. Kelly Ramsey, Dr. Christine Kerr | The primary responsibility of the committee is to provide expert advice to the AIDS Institute HIV Quality of Care Program to improve HIV clinical care in New York State. The Advisory Committee identifies priorities for care evaluation and advises on the creation, refinement, and implementation of HIV quality care indicators. |
