Community Calendar of Opioid Overdose Trainings

2024 Community Calendar

Many NYSDOH Registered Opioid Overdose Prevention Programs deliver community trainings throughout New York State. Community members who participate can expect to learn, the following:

  • Signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose;
  • Steps in how to respond to an overdose and how to administer naloxone;
  • Review the NYSDOH cost-saving program Naloxone Co-payment Assistance Program (N-CAP) and identify participating pharmacies where New Yorkers can get naloxone by using their prescription coverage through their health insurance plan; and
  • List the benefits of the NYS 911 Good Samaritan Law including the importance of calling emergency medical services.
Target Audience: For ALL community members - regardless of level of understanding/knowledge about opioid overdose.

Registration is the sole responsibility of the registered program offering the training.
