Ritual

The ritual involves gathering the residents. However the most important part of Come Fry with Me is the actual preparation of the meal. Residents are seated at tables with cutting boards and the food is given out to the residents to prepare. Each resident has a knife and a plastic cutting board. The facilitator assists the residents in chopping and cutting and guides them in conversation regarding meals that they cooked in the past. Once the chopping is complete the cutting boards are cleared and the residents assist in setting the table and then in sharing the meal. The facilitator continues to guide the conversation into familiar topics. Once the meal is complete residents are escorted from the room and the room is cleaned up.
