|Minimum Qualifications||New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Secretary 1 (G11); OR a NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title at or above a G-9 and deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. (Some transfer candidates will be required to take and pass a Civil Service keyboarding test in order to qualify for appointment).|
|Preferred Qualifications||The preferred candidate will have proficiency using personal computers, including Lotus Notes and Word; strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple and diverse tasks in a busy atmosphere. The preferred candidate must have experience in completing work assignments for a number of different professional staff and must have the ability and desire to work as a member of a team in planning and implementing work related activities. The preferred candidate must have good communication and phone skills.|
|Responsibilities||Within the Division of Legal Affairs, NY State of Health Counsel, Bureau of Appeals, the incumbent of this position will provide support for activities related to expansion and eligibility initiatives implemented through the Enrollment Center. Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: schedule meetings, conference calls, and conferences; provide assistance with scheduling hearings and administrative proceedings; process requests for changes in scheduled dates and answer questions about proceeding notices; assist with scheduling travel and correspondence with New York City, Albany, and Maximus staff; prepare routine reports, e.g., unit production, or assist in the preparation of reports by gathering data, tabulating results, preparing simple charts; prepare draft responses to routine correspondence; review, log and disseminate incoming mail; direct callers to appropriate staff; ensure compliance with administrative policies and procedures; and assist with special projects as assigned.|
