|Minimum Qualifications||Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator, G-18; OR DOH or other New York State employee with one year of service in a Grade 18 title or currently serving in an Administrative traineeship and eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator trainee under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law OR current New York State employee with one year of service in a qualified title and eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator trainee under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law OR current New York State employee with one year of service in a title G-11 or above, possessing a Bachelor's degree and eligible to transfer to Health Program Administrator trainee under Section 70.4 of Civil Service Law.|
|Preferred Qualifications||Experience in the following areas: fiscal, administrative, and contract management, Statewide Financial Systems (SFS) experience including initiating grant purchase orders and processing vouchers, budget development for grant applications, and personnel transactions.|
|Responsibilities||The Health Program Administrator will be responsible for processing contracts and related vouchers and will participate in annual contractor site visits. Additional responsibilities include drafting letters and other documents related to the contracting process, reviewing funding proposals for accuracy and validity, and making funding recommendations. This position will assist in the development of budgets and other fiscal information for grant applications and in recruiting new staff and processing personnel transactions for existing staff. Additional responsibilities may include oversight of office space and equipment and purchasing supplies and equipment.|
|Conditions of Employment||Permanent, full time. Occasional travel, including overnights and travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation is required.|
