UAS-NY Update: Computer Readiness Survey

The New York State Department of Health continues to make progress with the Uniform Assessment System for New York (UAS-NY) project. The UAS-NY, an electronic system, will standardize needs assessments across long term care programs.

Information about the project can be found here

The DOH is committed to keeping you informed of our progress. This is the first of a regular series of communications to keep you informed of the project's progress and timeframes.

The UAS-NY project will include beta testing, pilot implementation, and an organized state-wide rollout which includes a training component.

Currently, the DOH is preparing to identify beta and pilot participants. This preparation includes communicating with Local District Social Services and service providers, the ultimate users, about the project. It includes gathering information about the computer readiness to adopt an electronic system for conducting and managing assessments.

This future user involvement is an important component of the project and we encourage all Local District Social Services and Medicaid home and community based service providers to complete the survey.
