Single Source Procurement: New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health

Pursuant to New York State Finance Law § 163.10(b), The New York State Department of Health is presenting the following summary of relevant circumstances, and material and substantial reasons why a competitive procurement was not feasible.

The New York State Department of Health has made a determination to issue a Single Source Procurement to Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital/New York Center for Agricultural Medicine & Health (NYCAMH), contract C028937.

Article 39 of the New York State Public Health Law sets forth the establishment of a center for agricultural medicine and health. Since 1988 when Article 39 of the Public Health Law was established, the "center" has been operated by Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, as the New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health.

The Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital/ New York Center for Agricultural Medicine & Health (NYCAMH) will continue to operate an Agricultural Health Clinic to serve the farming community of New York State. The two main emphases of the clinic will be:

  • the provision of high quality medical care specializing in farming illnesses and injuries; and
  • utilization of a public health approach to prevent work-related illnesses and injuries related to the farming community.

NYCAMH will provide these services through a multi-year contract starting April 1, 2013 – March 31, 2018. The total value of the contract will be $5,265,000 with annual awards of $1,053,000.
