CON Reform

In response to the recommendations of the Commission on Health Care Facilities in the 21^st Century (the "Berger Commission"), the Department of Health, in consultation with the State Hospital Review and Planning Council and the Public Health Council, is developing new approaches to the certificate of need (CON) process. Our goal is a process that promotes the alignment of health care resources with community need and supports the development of a patient-centered, high-performing health care delivery system.

The Planning Committee of the State Hospital Review and Planning Council has convened a meeting for invited stakeholders to present their recommendations for CON reform.
