Statement from Health Commissioner Barbara A. DeBuono, M.D. on Investigations of Roswell Park Cancer Institute

Albany, July 26 -- Upon reviewing the reports of Attorney General Dennis C. Vacco and State Inspector General Roslynn R. Mauskopf, State Health Commissioner Barbara A. DeBuono, M.D., said today:

"I am delighted that the investigations by the Attorney General and Inspector General found no wrongdoing by officials of Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the Alliance Foundation.

"Roswell Park Cancer Institute is a jewel in the crown of New York health care. Its national reputation for quality care and ground-breaking research is well-deserved.

"I look forward to working with Roswell Park and Alliance officials to ensure that the recommendations of the Attorney General and the Inspector General are implemented."
