Media Advisory: State Insurance, Health Departments to Hold Additional Public Hearing on Universal Health Care
Albany, N.Y. (October 25, 2007) - Due the overwhelming response of citizens, the "Partnership for Coverage" public hearing scheduled for New York City has been expanded to include a second day of testimony on Nov. 2.
As part of Governor Eliot Spitzer's "Partnership for Coverage" initiative, the session will enable the general public, patient advocacy agencies, health care providers, insurance industry representatives, business and labor groups to share their input and proposals with State Health Commissioner Richard F. Daines, M.D., and Insurance Superintendent Eric R. Dinallo.
This will mark the fifth of eight hearings in the partnership for coverage series. All individuals planning to provide testimony must pre-register with the State Department of Health or the New York State Department of Insurance.
