Media Advisory: State Health Department to Hold Mass Vaccination Training Exercise
Albany, N.Y. (November 14, 2007) - On Thursday over 1,500 state employees will participate in a state Health Department mass flu vaccination training exercise at the Harriman State Office Campus, Building 3, in Albany, as a part of the state's continuing emergency preparedness efforts to respond quickly in the event of a public health emergency.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Thursday, November 15, the State Health Department will provide flu shots or Flu Mist® intra-nasal vaccine to over 1,500 state employees to practice the exercise of vaccinating large numbers of people in a limited amount of time.
Media may attend the exercise and tour the vaccination area between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Members of the media must have press credentials to present to State Police Security, as this exercise is being conducted as if it is a real event.
