Drinking Water Taste Contest to be Held Thursday During Albany "Alive At Five " Concert
ALBANY, N.Y. (July 30, 2008)–Five Capital Region communities will compete in the Regional Drinking Water Taste competition for best-tasting drinking water Thursday, July 31 at Riverfront Park during the Albany "Alive At Five" concert series. The top two finishers will compete for the championship at the New York State Fair.
The annual competition is sponsored by the New York State Department of Health and the American Water Works Association, New York Section.
The public is invited to participate in a blind taste test featuring liquid refreshment from the following public water supplies:
- Town of Guilderland, Albany County
- City of Johnstown, Fulton County
- Village of Hoosick Falls, Rensselaer County
- City of Mechanicville, Saratoga County
- Town of Rotterdam, Schenectady County
Each of these contestants won county competitions earlier this year.
