Media Advisory: Child Health Plus Enrollment Event Seeks to Enroll All Uninsured New York City Children in Health Insurance
NEW YORK (October 2, 2008) – As a result of legislation approved by Governor David A. Paterson and the State Legislature, children in families with annual incomes up to $70,000 for a family of three ($84,000 for family of four) are now eligible to obtain subsidized coverage under New York's Child Health Plus insurance program. On Saturday, October 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Asia Gate entrance to the Bronx Zoo at the corner of Bronx Park South and Boston Road, Anne Marie Costello of the Office of Health Insurance Programs of the State Health Department will be available to speak with members of the media and answer questions regarding New York's expanded Child Health Plus program. In addition, a 15-year-old Bronx girl will discuss the important health care she received through Child Health Plus.

Families attending this Child Health Plus enrollment event to enroll on site, begin an application, or make an appointment to apply, will receive free admission to the zoo during this time.
