Media Advisory: State Health Commissioner to Get Flu Shot Monday to Mark Official Start to New Flu Season
Today at 11 a.m., at the Family Medical Group of Northeast Health/Samaritan Hospital, 279 Troy Road in Rensselaer, State Health Commissioner Dr. Richard Daines will get his flu shot and discuss expectations for this year's new flu season.
Dr. Daines will discuss new recommendations from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that all individuals six months of age and older get the flu vaccine. He will also discuss what viruses this year's vaccine protects against and the importance of health care workers getting vaccinated against the flu to protect themselves and their patients.

Dr. Daines and Tammy Dunham, a registered nurse, will get vaccinated against the flu and discuss the importance of all individuals six months of age and older to get the flu vaccine this year.

Take I-90 East to Exit 9. At end of exit ramp turn left onto Rt. 4/Troy Road. Go 1 mile to Walmart SuperCenter on left. Turn into Supercenter and take immediate right. Follow the road around to complete a half circle until you come to the Family Medical Group located next to Panera Bread.
