Donald Bowen

Donald Bowen began his career as an Environmental Health Technician Trainee. Mr. Bowen is currently a Senior Sanitarian and has been selected for the Honor Roll for his work in protecting the public's health. His work in Environmental Health encompasses food services establishments, migrant labor camps, lead investigations of the public water systems and individual septic systems, and watershed protection. In 2000 contaminated groundwater was discovered, and Mr. Bowen worked nights and weekends to test approximately 300 private wells. Recently, Mr. Bowen reached out to the Amish Community in Cayuga County to provide information regarding HIB disease in unvaccinated children. He is viewed as a role model by all in the Environmental Health Division.
