  • 13 years of service

Cheryll Moore has provided vital implementation, coordination and supervision of the Bureau of Community Wellness for thirteen years. Health promotion activities include education, management and prevention services for diabetes, cancer, STD/HIV, substance abuse, tobacco cessation and worksite wellness. She advocates for legislation to support these services.

As Project Director for the Expanded Syringe Access Program, Cheryll co-developed the NeedlePoint syringe access and disposal program, which has 36 community kiosk disposal sites in WNY collecting 4 tons of medical waste yearly. Participation in National Drug Disposal events consistently yield the largest amounts collected in the state. Cheryll's enthusiasm extends to nutrition activities such as Healthy Choices, Independent Restaurant Menu Labeling Program and development of and participation on the Erie County Food Policy Council (FPC), the only Council in the state to be housed in a local health unit.
