Maribeth Miller, Assistant Commissioner for Public Health, Albany County Department of Health

Maribeth Miller started as a public health nurse and advanced to become the Director of Nursing. Her strong skillset and abilities eventually led her current appointment as Assistant Commissioner for Public Health where she provides oversight of major public health programs including Public Health Emergency Preparedness, Epidemiology, and Communicable Disease Control. Recently, when an Assistant Director of Nursing position was eliminated, Ms. Miller began providing direct support and assistance to the Director of Nursing to help manage the largest division in the department, a role she continues to this day. Maribeth's experience in nursing and public health, along with her leadership abilities, make her a tremendous asset to the department. She has been instrumental in helping to address major public health challenges including the H1N1 Influenza Pandemic as well as the recent response to the threat posed by Ebola. She is a quintessential public health professional.
