Definition:
The number assigned by SPARCS to indicate the record's position within a set of records for a particular patient stay. This field should be used only with a thorough understanding of the Discharge Number Information Group, fields 136-137. See Appendix ZZ Multiple Record Discharges.
This number is sequential (01, 02, etc.). For example, the Record Sequence Number for the second record in a set of 3 records required to report all the data for a particular patient stay is set equal to "02".
This data element is assigned in conjunction with Sequence Count (Data Element 9).
Codes and Values:- Right justified and zero filled.
