Definition:
The number assigned by SPARCS to indicate the total number of records required to report all the data for a particular patient stay including additional Accommodation occurrences, Ancillary occurrences and/or non-acute care occurrences. This field should be used only with a thorough understanding of the Discharge Number Information Group, fields 136-137. See Appendix ZZ Multiple Record Discharges.
This data element is assigned in conjunction with Record Sequence Number (Data Element 8).
