Definition:

The three-digit identification number used to identify the submitter of the data. This submitter, also referred to as the data collector, could be a vendor or the hospital itself. This code is not to be confused with the SPARCS Identification Number (Data Element 2), which identifies the facility from which the patients are being discharged.

  1. Must have been a valid collector code in accordance with the SPARCS Hospital Profile Reference File maintained by the SPARCS Administrative Unit.
