Definition:

An indicator, to be used in electronic submissions, which specifies whether a data transmission is to be processed as a TEST or PRODUCTION submission.

Codes and Values:

  • P = Production
    • Submission is sent through SPARCS UDS edit program
    • UDS Edit Report and Error Records (if any) are returned to user via HPN
    • Records passing edits are stored in the SPARCS Master File

  • T = Test
    • Submission is sent through SPARCS UDS edit program
    • UDS Edit Report and Error Records (if any) are returned to user via HPN
    • Records passing edits are NOT stored in the SPARCS Master File
