Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs)

The Department of Health (DOH) is fully committed to Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) advancement and has always met, and recently exceeded participation goals. Our intent is to continue striving to increase M/WBE utilization by supporting the program and awarded vendors through creating connections and promoting opportunities within DOH.

DOH is responsible for ensuring compliance with New York State Executive Law, Article 15A, which mandates State agencies to establish business and employment participation goals for minorities and women on State contracts.

Getting Certified

In order to become a NYS Certified M/WBE, you must Apply Online though Empire State Development (ESD) and meet the eligibility requirements. Once approved, you will be added to the NYS Directory of Certified Firms on the New York State Contract System.
