Specialized Managed Care Transition for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) Transition

Draft New York State Medicaid Managed Care Organization I/DD System Transformation Requirements and Standards to Serve Individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities in Specialized I/DD Plans – Provider Led (SIPs-PL)

The New York State Department of Health (DOH) and the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) will be accepting applications to qualify specialized Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MMCOs) to manage the delivery of cross-system services for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD). The goal is a model of care that enables qualified Plans, called Specialized I/DD Plans – Provider Led (SIPs-PL) to serve individuals with I/DD through Managed Care.

As a first step in the application process, the State released a draft version of the New York State Medicaid Managed Care Organization I/DD System Transformation Requirements and Standards to Serve Individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities in Specialized I/DD Plans – Provider Led (SIPs-PL) for stakeholder review and comment. Comments on the draft document were due October 3, 2018.
