Behavioral Health Webinars

Addressing the Medicaid population with behavioral health diagnoses is a key component of DSRIP as it has been shown that this population has the majority of avoidable hospital use, not only because of the behavioral health diagnoses but also because of medical diagnoses that are not being well addressed in the current health care system in NYS. This webinar by Greg Allen and Doug Ruderman is specifically addressed to the behavioral health provider community to provide an overview of DSRIP in general as well as a directed look at the role of behavioral health providers in DSRIP and the developing Performing Provider Systems.

This webinar presented by the National Council is an overview of the relationship between behavioral health, co-morbid physical health conditions, and hospitalizations, and also deeper detail to help inform PPS project applications for Domain 3.a.i, Integration of Primary Care and Behavioral Health Services. Includes workforce strategies, regulatory considerations, and resources for work plan development and implementation.

    Population Health Management Webinars

    Part 1 - November 2014

To thrive in the new value-based environment of DSRIP, PPSs must become high performing organizations, working together across the community, to provide a seamless continuum of coordinated, patient or "person-centered" services that are population health focused. The DSRIP Population Health Management Introduction webinar is the first of two Population Health webinars that will provide insight into the potential options and considerations you will need to take into account when designing your DSRIP projects. Part II of this topic will cover the IT considerations involved in Population Health.

    Part 2 - December 2014

The DSRIP program and metrics focus on improving population health. This requires complete, longitudinal information on what happens to patients over time and across organizational boundaries. This webinar will help your PPS think through some considerations to ensure that they have functional population health management tools in place help identify, monitor, and report on patient populations.

    Speed and Scale

The DSRIP categorization logic has been revised so that provider categories are rationalized, and where possible, aligned with the Medicaid Managed Care Operating Reports (MMCORs). The goal of this revised logic is to provide the PPS with a new listing of providers that mitigates the inclusion of providers in a category they are not traditionally associated with. Due to the logic revision, provider Scale counts have changed for each PPS. This recorded webinar explains the revised provider commitments in further detail, while also touching on the reopening of the performance network.

    Value Based Payments

The goal of DSRIP is to transform the New York State´s health care delivery system. Sustainable transformation of the delivery system, however, will require changing the way we pay providers. As part of the DSRIP waiver, by year 5, at least 90% of provider payments by MCOs need to be Value-Based. This webinar, presented by Medicaid Director Jason Helgerson and KPMG’s Marc Berg will walk you through the guiding principles and early concepts underlying this transformation.

This webinar was designed to provide an overview of contracting considerations for NYS VBP Pilots. Materials covered include contract elements that are required as part of the VBP Pilot Program as well as additional elements that may be considered. This webinar is intended to assist providers and payers in understanding how their existing contracts may be modified to meet the State's expectation for VBP, consistent with the State's VBP Roadmap.

    Workforce Strategy - Implementation Plan

Identifying key workforce process measures is a critical step in ensuring that your organization has the right workforce to meet the future state needs of DSRIP projects. The workforce implementation plan is your opportunity to identify the key steps, activities and analyses your PPS will take to reach a refined and accurate set of these measures, as these numbers will be tied to achievement values in future quarterly progress reports. This webinar is meant to be a high-level primer of the workforce section of the implementation plan. It outlines the key requirements, components, and activities for developing an implementation plan for workforce-related activities, and it also describes the implementation plan support that the DSRIP Support Team is providing to PPS throughout this process.
