Meaningful Use Public Health Reporting in 2018

In 2018, eligible providers may choose to meet the Modified Stage 2 or Stage 3 requirements. If an eligible provider chooses to meet the Stage 3 requirements, their CEHRT must also be able to meet all of the requirements for all of the Stage 3 objectives.

All Eligible Providers demonstrating MU: Any continuous 90–day period in the calendar year

The CMS final rule issued in 2017 allows all eligible providers to utilize 2014 Edition CEHRT, a combination of 2014 and 2015 Edition CEHRT, OR 2015 Edition CEHRT to meet the Public Health Reporting Objective.

Due to the flexibility in CEHRT allowance, eligible providers may choose to meet the Modified Stage 2 or Stage 3 requirements in 2018. If an eligible provider chooses to meet the Stage 3 requirements, their CEHRT must also be able to meet all of the requirements for all of the Stage 3 objectives.

Please see the ONC 2014 Edition Final Rule, 2014 Edition Release 2 Final Rule, and 2015 Edition Final Rule for additional details on the CEHRT Requirements.
