Media Advisory: First Lady, Health Commissioner Urge New Yorkers to "Feel Good About April 15th"

Announce Matching Funds for Breast Cancer Research, $2 million for Research Projects

Albany, March 26, 2001 – With the income tax deadline rapidly approaching, First Lady Libby Pataki and State Health Commissioner Antonia C. Novello, M.D., M.P.H., Dr.P.H. will hold a news conference tomorrow to explain how New Yorkers can "Feel Good About April 15th" by contributing to breast cancer research and education, while making their tax dollars go twice as far. The First Lady also will announce a statewide media campaign to promote donations to the State's breast cancer income tax check-off and a new round of competition for $2 million in funding for unique and innovative breast cancer research projects.
