NY State of Health Conducts Interactive Webinar to Help Uninsured New Yorkers Register Before December 15 Deadline

Webinars will be held Wednesday in English, Spanish and Mandarin

For coverage January 1, 2019, uninsured people must enroll in a plan by December 15

ALBANY, N.Y. (December 11, 2018) - NY State of Health, the official health plan Marketplace of New York, announced expanded efforts to enroll uninsured New Yorkers across the state before the December 15 deadline to qualify for January 1 coverage.

As part of the increased outreach effort, NY State of Health is holding a free interactive webinar open to all New Yorkers, which will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, December 12 at 3:00 pm. The event is designed to help New Yorkers find a low-cost quality health plan that is right for them. During the webinar, trained local representatives will answer questions and guide participants through the process of enrolling in the state’s health plan Marketplace and how to find in-person enrollment assistance. The webinar will be available in English, Spanish and Mandarin to accommodate as many individuals as possible.

“With more than 930,000 consumers already enrolled in a Qualified Health Plan or the Essential Plan during this Open Enrollment Period, NY State of Health is dedicated to enrolling New Yorkers in quality, affordable coverage before the upcoming deadline,” said NY State of Health Executive Director, Donna Frescatore. “Throughout the 2019 Open Enrollment Period, we will continue increased outreach in Queens and the Bronx with a series of special events to spread the word about affordable coverage options and other details about enrollment.”

NY State of Health representatives will be available at many events across the state to educate New Yorkers about the Marketplace and to enroll consumers in health plans. A list of locations is available on the events map.
