Public Health Program Coordinator

Job Description

A Public Health Program Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Planning, developing, administering, coordinating and monitoring various public health programs and essential services.
  • Prepares plans and statistical and technical reports.
  • Performs typical work activities in various public health programs and, if a registered nurse, would be required to perform nurse-related duties within the scope of the department.
  • General supervision may be included over various professional, technical and clerical staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Either:

A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Health or Public Administration, Healthcare management, Nursing or related field and two (2) years of work experience in community health services;

OR

B. Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with an Associate's Degree in Public Health, Health or Public Administration, Healthcare management, Nursing or related field and four (4) years of work experience in community health services;

OR

C. An equivalent combination of education and experience as contained within the parameters of (A) and (B) above.
