Supervising Disease Intervention Specialist

Job Description

This position will monitor investigations on patients and potential suspects in the field of sexually transmitted disease. This position will monitor the service delivery system, recommending and implementing needed changes. Included in the supervising function will be staff development of the disease intervention unit, engaging in activities that allow the unit to achieve New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) reactor grid objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Social Work, Human Services, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience working in a public contact position which included interviewing, instruction, investigating, and/or counseling and three (3) years of experience as a Disease Intervention Specialist; or:
  2. Graduation from a regionally accredited of New York State registered two (2) year college or university with and Associates’ Degree in Health, Social Work, Human Services, or closely related field and six (6) years of experience working in a public contact position which included interviewing, instruction, investigating and/or counseling and four (4) years of experience as a Disease Intervention Specialist.
