Patricia McAlpin has devoted her entire professional career to Public Health Nursing. She joined the Rockland County Health Department in 1975, became a Supervising Public Health Nurse in 1977, Assistant Director in 1989, and was promoted to Director of Patient Services in 2003.

Mrs. McAlpin's calm professionalism, years of clinical experience in home care and clinics, and her management skills have been and remain an invaluable asset to the department. She has steered the Nursing Division through multiple changes in recent years. Under her leadership, clinical services have successfully met growing demand and a changing community demographic. In addition, she has assured that our nurses have matured in their capacity to respond to public health emergencies and to conduct effective disease investigation. She is now working with our staff to expand Maternal Child Home Visiting and adopt a more comprehensive home visiting program model.
