Claudia Kurtzworth, Director, Public Health Education, Niagara County Department of Health

Claudia Kurtzworth has demonstrated extraordinary performance in providing cancer prevention and diagnostic treatment services for men and women in Niagara County. She is also known for her community outreach efforts to prevent and manage chronic diseases, such as diabetes and asthma.

Additionally, Claudia leads a collaborative team for the Stay-Well Program for older adults, focusing on wellness and preventing falls. She has directed smoking cessation campaigns and healthy living initiatives to combat obesity, improve nutrition, increase physical activities and prevent injury. She conducts health promotion programs with seniors and audiences of all ages using a variety of props, costumes and hilarious skits to grab the attention of at risk populations.

Claudia has received honors and awards for her exemplary work from the community members and was made an honorary member of the Tuscarora Nation after helping them to develop a Healthy Eating Cookbook to fight diabetes. Claudia is the face, spirit, energy and action in our community that makes Public Health work!
