Susan Barrette, RN, BSN, Coordinator of Children with Special Healthcare Needs, Cayuga County Health and Human Services

Susan Barrette is an outstanding employee dedicated to the well-being of the people she serves. Sue began her career in 1978 as a Public Health Nurse, has worked in various programs and is now our Coordinator of Children with Special Health Care Needs.

Sue works to remove barriers to care for some of the most vulnerable people in our population, linking them to appropriate services, assisting in coordinating their care and advocating for their special needs. She is a source of knowledge for families as they navigate health and education systems with their child; as well as for her colleagues around the state. Sue’s ability to communicate with providers and clients is a vital aspect of addressing health disparities for the families enrolled in our programs.
