Lisa O’Dell has been a Public Health Educator with Wayne County for 21 years. During that time she has adapted her public health education work to meet the needs of the agency and many changes in public health practice that have come to pass. These changes include the transition from safety net provider of services to prevention based entity; the closing of the certified home health agency; the implementation of evidence based practices; the creation of a Wayne County Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP); the creation of a comprehensive quality improvement program; and work related to the public health agency accreditation process. Lisa is viewed as a highly skilled professional educator willing to go above and beyond to meet the public health educational needs of the community as a whole.
