Krista Drake has worked in the position of Public Health Educator since she was first hired at the Oneida County Health Department nine years ago. Armed with a Master's in Public Health and a solid work foundation, she has served as an example of commitment and professionalism to all levels of staffing within the Department and the community. Krista is valued and relied upon for her experience, knowledge, level of expertise and understanding of various populations and stakeholders within the community. She often provides the critical and analytical thinking – the "what if?" or "did you think about this?" – that contributes to the better plan or more successful approach to challenges faced in public health. Recently she has taken a leadership role in community health assessment and development, implementation and assessment of the Community Health Improvement Plan. She successfully engages staff and is able to serve as a mentor and teacher within the department and the community.
