As a longstanding member of the Dutchess County Department of Health, Linda Squires continues to demonstrate her exemplary commitment to the control of communicable diseases that threaten our community. During the past year, the division of Communicable Disease Control was called upon to respond to the global threat of Ebola; a contagious case of measles on a college campus; increasing rates of sexually transmitted diseases; and many other communicable disease outbreaks. Through each of these threats, Linda led the division with dedication and skill, worked with colleagues and peers to develop solutions both innovative and practical, and communicated effectively with county officials and community partners. Thanks to her energy and leadership, all threats to public health were identified in a timely manner and effectively contained. Linda's professionalism, wealth of knowledge and dedication are inspiring to her team and an asset to Dutchess County and to the Department of Health.
