Thomas Kump has served 23.5 of his 27.5 years as the Director of Environmental Health Services at the Chemung County Health Department. As a Supervising Public Health Engineer he reorganized and revitalized Environmental Health Services which is now recognized as one of the most effective and innovative programs in the Western Region of NY. Under his leadership the department piloted the state's e-forms system using IPads to record and report sanitary code inspections. The outstanding success of this effort contributed to the receipt of a State Health Department Performance Incentive Award for 2015- 2016 with a perfect score of 100%. Tom served as Chair of the NYS Conference of Environmental Health Directors in 2013-2014 and plays an active role on NYSACHO's Environmental Health Services Committee. His commitment to excellence and concern for the public's health and safety have made him one of the outstanding environmental health leaders in the state.
