Maria Cecilia Mosquera, MD, MPH, FAAP

In June of 2017, the Rockland County Department of Health (RCDOH) embarked on a dynamic reorganization in response to the evolving demands of Public Health in the 21st century. As RCDOH Medical Director, Dr. Maria Cecilia Mosquera, has implemented a number of improvements. She assisted in transitioning the Early Intervention/Pre-K Transportation Program (for children with special needs) to a new company and tracking system; and helped increase accessibility to "flu" clinics by expanding the number of sites from one to five.Dr. Mosquera is coordinating a number of future plans including performance management and quality improvement efforts; increasing participation of vulnerable populations in emergency response exercises; increasing the reach of Family Planning services for the adolescent community; evaluating the feasibility of a pre-exposure prophylaxis protocol and program for adults at RCDOH STI Clinics; working to align the county's Strategic Plan and Community Health Improvement Plan; and spearheading efforts of the RC Public Health Priorities Committee.
