Natalie Schubel, Public Health Education Coordinator, Schenectady County Public Health Services

Natalie Schubel is a Public Health Education Coordinator for Schenectady County Public Health Services. In this role, Natalie co-leads the Schenectady Coalition for a Healthy Community with the local hospital system. She was integral in completing the 2016 Community Health Assessment (CHA) and developing the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). She has engaged diverse partners to ensure that CHIP objectives are achieved. Natalie is working with food pantries to improve availability of healthier options and to make "the healthier choice the easier choice" for clients by implementing principles of behavioral economics. She has worked with a primary care practice to increase diabetes screening rates among high-risk patients and has supported the development of a Diabetes Prevention Program with the local hospital system.
