Ann Marie Csorny, LCSW-R, Director, Division of Community Mental Hygiene, Suffolk County Department of Health Services

  • 31 Years of Service

Under Ann Marie Csorny's leadership, Suffolk County is now home to an innovative 24/7 model of care for behavioral health needs. Ms. Csorny leveraged State dollars and brought together stakeholders to create a program that takes a whole person approach when helping individuals address their immediate needs and then link them to ongoing treatment and support. The program, DASH – Diagnostic Assessment Stabilization Hub - is operated via a contract and is seeing impressive numbers of people being served and connected to ongoing treatment and services. Since opening in Spring 2019, DASH has helped thousands of people through its 24/7 hotline, on-site clinical and support services, or through its mobile response team. DASH has answered over 5,000 hotline calls, cared for over 2,500 individuals on-site, and met with over 2,000 people in the community through its mobile response. In addition, over 100 people have been inducted on buprenorphine and many more have been provided Narcan kits and overdose prevention education. Ms. Csorny's vision has removed barriers and increased access to care for many Suffolk County residents.
