Mary McCormack, Public Health Programs Assistant, Putnam County Department of Health

  • 12 Years of Service

Mary McCormack works tirelessly to improve and coordinate the immunization program, which is critical to the health department's efforts to control and prevent disease. With her great organizational mind, she has streamlined the charting and labeling system to improve access to quality care, utilization review and to ease co-workers' burdens. Her compassion and thoughtfulness for the needs of others is evident not solely with health department staff however. She also works to unwaveringly support health equity throughout the county, with her involvement in the migrant immunization program. Beyond the normal scope of her position, Mary has been a critical element during emergency preparedness drills, providing guidance to those she supervises. Mary has been a champion of public health agency accreditation as well. She is a valued member of the both the Communications and Quality Improvement and Performance Management Committees, as well as the Domain 9 (QI) subcommittee for accreditation.
