Nancy Lenhert is an experienced Public Health Nurse who strives to remove barriers and improve access to care for families in Dutchess County and especially mothers, infants and families affected by Substance Use Disorder (SUD). In 2019 she took on the assignment of co- located nurse at the Department of Community and Family Services (DCFS). The role focuses on safety for infants and families at risk for or with a history of substance exposure. Her willingness to be flexible in scheduling field work to accommodate the needs of families and caseworkers has further enhanced her effectiveness in this role. Ms. Lenhert is an active participant in the MCH (Maternal and Child Health) Initiative, a coalition that was formed to address the increase in infants born in Dutchess County exposed to substances, specifically infants diagnosed with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). She is active throughout the community in her efforts to address health disparities and her work to meet the multiple complex needs of families in Dutchess County.
