The Epidemiology and Disease Control Team provides expertise in epidemiology, disease surveillance, and data analysis to the department and the community. In another year dominated by COVID-19, the team balanced all of the operations of the Epidemiology Division with skill and grace. All of the team worked tirelessly with little break. The data analysis of Anne, Juireith, Melissa and Clare were integral in maintaining a handle on all reportable communicable diseases in the community, especially COVID-19. Nearly all the COVID-19 data that was distributed by Monroe County, including the online dashboard, was generated by Anne and Juireith. Nnyen, Carla, and Allison managed all non-COVID-19 surveillance investigations, helping to ensure that the community was protected on all fronts. The Epidemiology and Disease Control Team have truly performed admirably in an unprecedented time.
