Ms. Jean Smiley began her public health career almost thirty years ago. Through her remarkable work and dedication to public health, Ms. Smiley was successfully promoted through the ranks of Associate Director of the Bureau of Dental Health, to Administrator, and finally to Deputy Commissioner for the Onondaga County Health Department. In this capacity Ms. Smiley has improved access to flu vaccines and has been a community leader for bioterrorism preparedness to ensure that the community is prepared for any public health threat. These efforts have earned Ms. Smiley the trust and respect of community partners throughout Central New York.
