Subject: Minimum Data Set (MDS) Audit Clarifications
Dear Administrator:
The New York State Department of Health in conjunction with the Office of Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) and the Nursing Home Associations is pleased to issue a MOS Audit Clarifications Memorandum.
The Clarifications Memorandum follows the guidelines of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) manual and provides a link to the University at Albany School of Public Health where additional information may be obtained. The Memo was created to provide nursing facilities with clear definitions for audit terminologies and required audit documentation and should be used in tandem with the RAI manual.
