Impact of marketing fresh fruit in the school cafeteria

Consumption of fresh fruit went up steadily from December 2009 through March 2010 when signage and fruit placements were implemented at the high school in Clinton County. In April, fruit consumption dropped though sales of fresh fruit continued to surpass sales of canned fruit. The drop in the fresh fruit sales and the increase in canned fruit sales after April may be attributed to using up canned fruit inventory before schools closed.
