April 18, 2013 New York State AIDS Advisory Council Meeting The New York State AIDS Advisory Council (AAC) was created in 1983 by Public Health Law, Article 27-E, Section 2778. The AAC is responsible for advising the Commissioner of Health and making recommendations about issues related to HIV and AIDS. None
April 18, 2013 Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee The Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee consists of experienced physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and consumer representatives appointed by the Commissioner. The Committee reviews specific clinical issues regarding Medicaid pharmacy policy. After hearing public comments and reviewing information provided by interested parties, the Committee make recommendations to the Commissioner on proposed changes. This meeting was CANCELED.
April 17, 2013 New York State Advisory Council on Lead Poisoning Prevention Meeting The NYS Lead Poisoning Prevention Advisory Council, mandated by Section 1370-b of the Laws of 1992, will hold a meeting in Albany. The purpose of the meeting is to review current childhood lead poisoning prevention efforts on the part of the New York State Department of Health and discuss future strategies to reduce or eliminate the risk of lead hazard exposure. None
April 11, 2013 Committee on Codes, Regulations and Legislation and the Full Public Health and Health Planning Council Meeting The Committee on Codes, Regulations and Legislation will convene at 10:15 a.m. The Public Health and Health Planning Council (PHHPC) will convene immediately following. The PHHPC has a broad array of advisory and decision-making responsibilities with respect to New York State's public health and health care delivery system. It is charged with adopting and amending the Sanitary Code and health care facility, home care agency, and hospice operating regulations. The PHHPC also makes decisions concerning the establishment and transfer of ownership of health care facilities, home care agencies and hospice programs. It makes recommendations to the Commissioner of Health concerning major construction projects, service changes, and equipment acquisitions in health care facilities and home care agencies. It also advises the Commissioner on issues related to the preservation and improvement of public health. The Council's powers and duties are set forth in section 225 of the Public Health Law. None
