May 22, 2012 Empire State Stem Cell Board Full Board Meeting The Empire State Stem Cell Board is responsible for making recommendations regarding scientific, medical and ethical standards relevant to research and clinical trials considered for funding through the Empire State Stem Cell Trust Fund, soliciting applications for research projects to be considered for funding from the Empire State Stem Cell Trust Fund, developing eligibility requirements and standards, evaluating proposals, and making recommendations to the Commissioner of Health for the award of grants. May 16, 2012 State Emergency Medical Services Council (SEMSCO) The State Emergency Medical Services Council has the power, subject to approval by the Commissioner, to enact, amend, and repeal rules and regulations establishing minimum standards for ambulance services, ambulance service certification, advanced life support first response services, the provision of prehospital emergency medical care, public education, the development of a statewide emergency medical services system, the provision of ambulance services outside the primary territory specified in the ambulance services' certificate, and the training, examination, and certification of certified first responders, emergency medical technicians, and advanced emergency medical technicians. May 15, 2012 State Emergency Medical Advisory Committee (SEMAC) The State Emergency Medical Advisory Committee develops and recommends to the State Emergency Medical Services Council statewide minimum standards for medical control; treatment, transportation and triage protocols, including protocols for invasive procedures and infection control; and the use of regulated medical devices and drugs by emergency medical services personnel. The Committee also reviews protocols developed by regional emergency medical advisory committees for consistency with statewide standards. None
May 10, 2012 State Trauma Advisory Committee (STAC) The State Trauma Advisory Committee (STAC) provides advice to the Commissioner and Department on trauma-related issues. The Committee is comprised of trauma professionals that meet to discuss, problem-solve and research current issues in the trauma system. None
May 9, 2012 Meeting of the Committee on Health Planning The Health Planning Committee advises the Council on need-methodologies, health facility plans, and emerging health care issues. Monitors major health care initiatives and advises the Council on progress and/or problems. The Committee will also include functions from the SHPRC's Committee on Major Medical Equipment and Appropriateness Review in the evaluation of high technology equipment, and specialized services such as organ transplants. The Committee will also take into consider rural health matters in collaboration with the Rural Health Council. The Committee will also handle matters formerly considered under the SHPRC's Information Systems Review Committee whose general purpose was to advance a framework for CON to ensure interoperable health information technology as an underpinning to health care delivery. April 27, 2012 Minority Health Council This is a webcast for the upcoming meeting of the New York State Department of Health's Minority Health Council. Since the Council's inception, regularly scheduled meetings, held at least four times each year, have been open to the public. Pursuant to enacting legislation, this Council whose members are appointed by the governor with advice and consent of the senate, is charged with advising the commissioner on matters relating to the preservation and improvement of minority health. The Council is required to meet a minimum of two times per year. None
