November 10, 2016 AIDS Advisory Council Meeting The New York State AIDS Advisory Council (AAC) was created in 1983 by Public Health Law, Article 27-E, Section 2778. The AAC is responsible for advising the Commissioner of Health and making recommendations about issues related to HIV and AIDS. None
November 9, 2016 Minority Health Council Meeting Pursuant to enacting legislation, this Council, whose members are appointed by the governor with advice and consent of the senate, is charged with advising the commissioner on matters relating to the preservation and improvement of minority health. July 12, 2016 1115 Waiver Public Comment The 1115 waiver is designed to permit New York to use a managed care delivery system to deliver benefits to Medicaid recipients, create efficiencies in the Medicaid program, and enable the extension of coverage to certain individuals who would otherwise be without health insurance. In addition, New Yorks goals in implementing its 1115 waiver include improving access to health services and better health outcomes for New Yorkers through multiple programs. None

July 21, 2015 VAPAP Transformation Plan Training Conference The Department has scheduled a conference/ webinar for PPS leads and/or hospitals that have received, or are currently expected to receive, Vital Access Provider Assurance Program (VAPAP) assistance. The intent of the webinar is to present the transformation plan template and review responsibilities for completion and submission of the transformation plans. Transformation plans acceptable to the Department are due by September 30, 2015. None
January 13, 2015 Ending the Epidemic Task Force On June 29, 2014 Governor Andrew M. Cuomo made an important announcement, in which he detailed a three-point plan to 'Bend the Curve' and move us closer to the end of the AIDS epidemic in New York State. The goal is to reduce the number of new HIV infections to just 750 by 2020. The three-point plan includes: (1) Identify persons with HIV and link them to care. (2) Link and retain persons diagnosed in health care to maximize viral suppression and prevent further transmission. (3) Facilitate access to Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for high risk persons to keep them HIV negative. The Task Force has been established in support of Governor Cuomo's three-point plan to decrease new HIV infections. The Task Force will provide expert advice on implementation and monitoring strategies, focusing on New York State's highly successful existing HIV prevention and care efforts. Member of the Task Force will address areas of prevention, policy, access to care, surveillance, messaging and biomedical advances via four committees: (1)Prevention, (2)Care, (3) Data, and (4)Housing and supportive services. This initiative will maximize the availability of life-saving, transmission-interrupting treatment for HIV, saving lives and improving the health of New Yorkers. None
