Dear Administrator
This notifies providers of the approval and publication of the Medicaid Hospice Residence rates for the period January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023. The formula on which these 2023 rates are based was promulgated in accordance with Section 4014 of the Public Health Law (PHL) and Subpart 866(h) of Title 10 of the Commissioner’s Administrative Rules and Regulations.
In accordance with the approved rate methodology, these rates represent 94% of the weighted average calendar year Medicaid rate of the nursing facilities located in the WEF region of your hospice residence. These rates also include the value of the ten percent increase, effective April 1, 2018, in accordance with Chapter 57 of the Laws of 2018, as well as the 2022 Enacted one percent (1%) enhancement, effective April 1, 2022. The payment for the January 1, 2023 Hospice residence rates were made in cycle 2389, check release date June 21, 2023.
