The team members of Essex County Public Health Preventive Services strive to provide the highest quality services to the residents of Essex County in their approach to individuals, targeted groups, or in working with communities. They emphasize team work in conducting communicable disease outbreak investigations, carrying out the MOMS Programs, joining WIC staff at a clinic to provide blood lead testing and car seats, conducting immunization clinics or updating the website.
ECPH Preventive Services staff members emphasize public health and prevention. This is evidenced by their work with communities to address the growing obesity problem determined by the most recent Community Health Assessment. They are also providing education programs in schools for STD prevention and safe sex behaviors, addressing the needs of pregnant teens, providing rabies vaccination clinics, and developing emergency shelter plans. The members of this team put their hearts and minds together to serve the residents of Essex County.
