Sharon Yerdon, LPN, Coordinator of the Immunization Action Plan (IAP) grant, has been employed at Wayne County Public Health for 27 years. A trusted resource for historical information and perspective about immunizations, Sharon is the go-to person for immunization questions for Wayne County staff, school nurses, medical practices and the community at large. She plays an integral role in conducting medical practice and day care audits using the Assessment, Feedback, Incentives eXchange (AFIX) approach. Sharon continually looks for better ways to meet the community's immunization needs to protect Wayne County residents from contracting vaccine preventable diseases and promoting the public's health.
