Troubleshooting

  1. Problem: Resident consistently interrupts the reader.
    Solution: Facilitator redirects resident back to the topic being discussed.
  2. Problem: The initial facilitator for the group took a three-week vacation.
    Solution: Another staff member attended the group for several weeks and volunteered to facilitate the group during the vacation.
  3. Problem: Residents progressed in their dementia and could no longer attend comfortably.
    Solution: As residents were unable to participate new residents were introduced into the group.
